Preventive Care

Our focus at TVIM is preventive care.  We want to help you maintain your health and assist you in preventing any potential illness in the future.  These services include scheduling preventive screenings and providing vaccinations.  We can also offer Pelvic exams in office if desired.

Chronic Disease

We treat all chronic conditions including hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes and COPD just to name a few.  We also work very closely with other specialists to provide the best possible care for each patient.

Acute Illness

We are also available to treat acute illness such as upper respiratory infections, gastroenteritis as well as other non-life threatening emergencies that may arise.  We have the capability to do x-ray in office and can suture minor lacerations.  We do ask that you call prior to coming in so we may give you an appointment that will allow us to adequately assess your needs.

Minor Surgery

We also offer minor surgical procedures such as skin tag/mole removal, laceration repair and joint injections/drainage

Appointments

Emergencies

Cancellations

Prescriptions

Appointments can be scheduled by calling the office and speaking with one of our staff members.  We do not currently offer on line scheduling.  We encourage you to schedule your follow-up visits at the conclusion of each office visit so there will be a time set aside for you when your provider would like to see you again.  We also encourage scheduling your yearly physical, even though that appointment is a year away!

If you have an urgent issue and need to be seen on a same day basis, please call the office and we will schedule an appointment for you that will best fit the provider’s already full schedule.  We do not take walk-in patients.  If you walk in, you will be asked to come back at a time that is convenient to the providers and will not take away from other patients who already have a scheduled appointment.

While we hope that you never have a life-threatening emergency, if you are having chest pain, shortness of breath, have sustained a head injury or have any symptoms of stroke, we please ask that you get to the nearest emergency room as quickly as possible.  If you have a non-life threatening emergency, i.e. a laceration, we can certainly assist you in these situations.  If you have a non-life threatening emergency after hours, you may contact the office and follow the prompts to speak to one of our providers.  Please note that there is a $25 charge for calls made to the Emergency Line.

Each appointment is reserved especially for a specific patient.  With that in mind, we require at least a 24 hour notice if you intend to cancel your appointment.  This will give us time to fill the slot with another patient who may need to be seen urgently.

We do understand that emergencies happen that often do not yield to a 24 hour notice.  With that in mind, we will not charge for the first late cancellation.  However, subsequent cancellations/no-shows will be charged a $25 fee.  This fee is not billable to insurance and will be patient responsibility.  After multiple late cancellation/no-shows, the patient will be subject to discharge from the practice.

We see most patients on a bi-annual basis. We ask that during those appointments that you request your prescription refills.  If you miss one, or forget to bring in your medication list, we do have a prescription refill line.  You will call, leave you name and DOB with the name of the medication and the pharmacy you would like it sent to.  The request will be fulfilled within 24-48 hours.  Phone calls are not returned from this line.  Please check with your pharmacy to determine if the medication has been called in.  If it is a controlled medication, you may call the front desk to see if the prescription is ready to pick up.
